The courses are fully described in the University Prospectus. Our tutors' research interests are in Numerical Analysis, Number Theory and Mathematical Biology, respectively, and their teaching interests cover a wide range of Mathematics in, respectively: Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Statistics.

The Savilian Professor of Geometry, Professor Nigel Hitchin, FRS, holds a Fellowship at the College as does Professor Marcus du Sautoy, OBE, who is Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science. There is often also a Junior Research Fellow in Mathematics.

If you are a candidate for any of the Maths or Joint Maths courses you are advised to take double Maths at A-level if possible, although a candidate doing only single Maths A-level would receive sympathetic consideration. especially if double Maths is not available at their school.

The tutors consider that all types of Mathematics A-level syllabus are equally suitable as preparation.

For further information on how to apply, entrance requirements and selection criteria, please see the University website, the Mathematical Institute's website and the Department of Statistics' website.
