Bridget Smart is a DPhil student at the University of Oxford’s Mathematical Institute and Institute of New Economic Thinking. She holds a MPhil (Applied Mathematics and Statistics) and a B.Math Sciences (Advanced) from the University of Adelaide. Previously, Bridget worked to model and understand information flows on online social networks, constructing tools to better understand our online landscapes.
Teaching
Bridget teaches probability and statistics to the first and second year students. She has taught a range of courses across statistics, probability and applied mathematics for the department.
Research interests
Her research brings tools from information science, network science and statistics together to build, characterise and assess models to capture emergence and complexity in real-world systems.
