You were such a wonderful lady, you smiled and waved at me every day at work for the last 19 years. I will miss that , you made each day a little better. I will remember you fondly, chatting with your friends, smiling over a cup of tea and giggling in 12OB scouts pantry. Much love to your family

Nima (or Yudon Nima as I…
Nima (or Yudon Nima as I knew her) was a very beloved friend for 35 years. We met in Lhasa when she was a senior doctor in the Lhasa City Hospital and I was teaching English for the Academy of Social Sciences. She and her husband escaped Tibet after pro-independence demonstrations in 1987, when doctors were told not to treat injured demonstrators and they were reported to the police for doing so. Eventually, they managed to bring their son, Tenzin, and daughter, Deki, to the UK and made a life for themselves in Oxford. I know that Yudon loved New College and the many friends that she made there.

I always loved to re-organise my room in 9OB3. Any time I'd make a change to the set up of the furniture, I'd ask Nima for her seal of approval which she would give with a smile, the nod of a head and a few words of affirmation. When you ran into Nima around college, you could be sure that her warm smile and gentle greeting would cheer you up. My deepest condolences to your family Nima, your friends, and all those who you touched in the New College community. May you rest in peace.
Dear Nima
You left us far too early, but your smile will always be in our hearts and your memory will be with us always.
