New College Salon meets for Trinity Term
The New College MCR Salon met for their Trinity Term session last week, hosted by the Warden in his lodgings.
Cecilia Esteche Gil (Master of Public Policy) spoke thoughtfully on opportunity across the globe, considering 'Does where you are born shape your opportunities? When policy meets reality'. This was contrasted by Julianna Lee (Master of Studies in Ancient Philosophy) whose talk pondered 'Subversive Piety? How Socrates' "impiety" got him killed'.
These two talks were well received by fellow members of the MCR who explored and questioned both topics during the Salon.
The New College Salon is organised by the college's postgraduate community (MCR) and meets once a term as a space for its members to showcase some of their spectacular, interesting, and thought-provoking research.
