New choral work by Luke Lewis will be performed this week

Composer and Lecturer in Music Luke Lewis will see the first performance of his new choral work, Rent Songs, this coming week. Luke’s written a three-part work where the final part sets the conclusion of New College English Fellow Hannah Sullivan’s poem ‘Tenants’ (from her collection Was it for This, 2023). What’s more, the second of the pieces is a setting of a William Whitehead poem about the Oxfordshire village of Nuneham Courtenay that was suggest to the composer by English Fellow Will Poole. So, a real New College creation!

The Carice Singers, conducted by George Parris, will perform Rent Songs at King’s Place, London, on Thursday 14 May.
