New College Law Society Dinner

The New College Law Society warmly invites New College Old Members who read law or work in the legal profession to its next annual dinner, which will take place on Saturday 25th April 2026 at New College.

The dinner is the highlight of the Society's social calendar and offers Old Members a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends as well as the chance to meet other Old Members and current students who have an interest in the law and law related careers.

This year’s dinner will also mark Professor Susan Bright’s retirement. We very much hope that many Old Members will be able to attend to celebrate her and wish her well after her many years teaching at New College and supporting our Law Society.

The event will begin with the annual New College Law Society Prize Moot at 4.45pm in the McGregor Matthews Room, which is optional to attend, followed by a drinks reception in the Founder's Library at 6.30pm and a three-course dinner in Hall. We are delighted that the after dinner speech will be given by our guest of honour, Cordella Bart-Stewart OBE, a family law and immigration specialist and the co-founder of the UK Association of Black Judges.

Tickets are available from the University of Oxford Online Store payment link. Old Members are also welcome to book one guest ticket.

The dress code for the dinner is black tie.

Further questions can be directed towards the New College Law Society President at salma.ahmed@new.ox.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing many of you in April.
