Countertenors from JCR and MCR collaborate in last Warden’s recital of term

Countertenors from both the JCR and MCR united in the last Warden's recital of term, performing a diverse programme of music. Beginning with Aug Dem Gebirge hat man win Geschrei gehöret by Schutz, Zachary Roberts and Carlo Zanetti's repertoire spanned songs by Purcell, Handel, Dowland, Monteverdi, among others. 

Zachary Roberts is currently in his third year as an Academical Clerk in the Choir of New College, where he studies Music. Outside of the college choir, Zachary enjoys singing and arranging music for The News; he also sings with the Delius Singers for Alexander Pott and is a choral scholar with Oxford Bach Soloists for the 25/26 season. 

Carlo Maria Zanetti is a second-year DPhil student in medieval literature at New College, where he is also a Deputy Lay Clerk in the Choir. He studied music at King's College London and intellectual history at the Warburg Institute. He has worked as a soloist and as a member of various of various choral institutions across Italy, the Vatican and the UK. 

Zachary and Carlo were accompanied by Marcus McDevitt, also prize-winning Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and currently the senior organ scholar at New College.
