New College student completes Amman Half Marathon in aid of Asylum Welcome
Last week, New College student Henry ran the Amman Half Marathon to raise money for Oxfordshire charity Asylum Welcome. Since October last year, he has been volunteering with the charity, which supports and provides practical advice for asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants living in Oxfordshire. He told us a bit about his work with Asylum Welcome.
I have been working with the youth team since October last year, delivering case work to young adults and teenagers. We also offer legal support, housing support, other forms of support which deliver a bit of humanity.
A second-year Arabic student, Henry is currently on his year abroad living in Amman. See below for pictures from the finish line of the half marathon, captured early in the morning under the Jordanian sunrise!
