New College Boat Club Eights Dinner

You are cordially invited to this year’s Summer Eights celebrations which will be held on Saturday 28th May. 

This is a special celebration for the boat club, commemorating the 40th anniversary of women rowing at NCBC which we would like to give the recognition it deserves. We have therefore organised an exciting sequence of events for all past and current members, starting with watching the racing and ending with a delicious dinner in hall.
Summer Eights racing will take place from 12:00-4:30pm with NCBC boats expected to race in almost every division. We will be selling a range of drinks and snacks at our ‘Boathouse Bar’. 

After racing, a sparkling drinks reception will be held in the New College gardens from 5:30-7:30pm to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of women rowing at New College. During this reception, the president, alumni secretary, and old members from our first women’s crews will be making speeches. There will also be an opportunity for old women’s crews to come together and have professional pictures taken to commemorate this momentous occasion. All members, both past and present, are welcome to attend, but we particularly encourage women’s crews to reunite and attend this celebration.

Finally, we will be hosting a three course Eights dinner in the New College Hall, after which the president and captains will make speeches and announcements relating to our likely racing successes! Eight’s dinner will run from 7:30-9:30pm and will be followed by drinks in the bar.

The dress code, as usual, is Evening dress with a splash of purple and gold. The drinks reception and dinner will cost £70.00 per person. To book your place, please visit our events booking page.
