New College Step-Up essay competition winners announced

On 27 October, New College announced the winners of its Step-Up essay competition. 

Adam, from Manchester, was the overall winner of the competition, receiving a prize of £250, whereas runner-up, Hibah, from Cardiff, won £100. 

The essay competition is part of the New College Step-Up outreach initiative, inspiring state-school students from years 11, 12 and 13 to apply to Oxford.

Along with their parents, Adam and Hibah spent the day in New College to celebrate their win. In the morning, they met with the Warden of New College for a prize giving session and, afterwards, they attended lunch in Hall with Shelby, our Senior Outreach Officer.

As a happy coincidence, both Adam and Hibah have applied to New College to study Law and Medicine respectively. We wish them the very best of luck with their applications!
