New College Notes—issue 25 now published

New College Notes

The 25th issue of New College, Oxford’s scholarly open-access e-journal New College Notes (ISSN 2517–6935) is now published.

 

This latest issue includes articles on: Arabic and Syriac scholars D. S. Margoliouth of New College and his wife Jessie Payne Smith, the Americas in the library’s early printed books, a New College man’s influence on publication of Edward Sackville-West’s The Ruin (1926), and our MS 7, one of three large 13th-century pandect Bibles in the library.

Contributors include: Julia Bray, Robin Lane Fox, Christian C. Sahner, and David G. K. Taylor.

 

New College Notes is dedicated to research articles and learned notes on the history and life of New College, and especially the contents and history of the rich collections of New College Library & Archives, Oxford.  Potential contributors are invited to contact the Librarian, Dr Christopher Skelton-Foord, who edits and publishes the journal.
