New College Commemoration Ball 2022

New College Ball: 2022

A Commemoration Ball is a formal ball held during the ninth week, or 'Commemoration Week', of Oxford's Trinity Term.

Every three years New College takes on the responsibility of hosting the event, with this year's celebration taking place on Saturday June 25th.

Over the course of the week, the College was slowly transformed into 'The Lost City of Atlantis', a mythical island lost to the ocean over the course of just one day and night.   Mirroring this, a formal dinner marked the beginning of the event at 6.00pm, with the festivities concluding with the customary 'Survivors Photograph' at 6.00am in the Old Quad. An impressive number of people were still standing at the end of a very long night!

A headline set from Example, an ABBA singalong with tribute act, 'ABBA: Re-Bjorn', a silent disco, as well as multiple other musical acts meant that revellers could find no excuse not to dance, whilst an array of food and drink options ensured that energy levels could be maintained in order to welcome the dawn.

We're already looking forward to seeing what the 2025 Ball has in store...
