College Commemoration Service 2022

The College Commemoration Service took place on Sunday 30th October. 

Attendees followed in the footsteps of the first fellows in a candlelit procession around the Front Quad to the Chapel. 

The theme for this year's service was diversity and it featured music by Black composers, including Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Aldophus Hailstork.

There was also an exhibition from the Library and Archives, highlighting diversity among our collections - from early New College students from ethnic minorities, items relating to the American Civil Rights movement, and famous New College Old Members. Authors featured included Susan Rice, Rageh Omaar, Shelina Janmohamed, and Dambudzo Marechera.
