Alesia Preite
Alesia is currently a Stipendiary Lecturer in Ancient Philosophy at New College and a DPhil candidate in Philosophy at St John's College. She gained her BA (2015) and her MA (2017) in Philosophy from Università di Pavia after spending two years abroad (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and University of Cambridge). During her DPhil, she has been a visiting student at Columbia University and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
Teaching
Alesia tutors Plato (Meno and Enthyphro and Republic), Early Greek Philosophy, and Philosophy and Feminism.
Research Interests
Alesia's research interests focus mainly on Plato. Her DPhil thesis discusses the epistemology and the psychology of Plato's Timaeus, and in particular the comparison between cosmic and human cognition. During her DPhil, she has also developed an interest in Feminist Philosophy.
