Staying Connected in Lockdown

Emeritus Fellow Peggy Frith shares the ways in which some SCR biomedics are combating isolation.

"In these days of particular isolation for more senior members of the college we have an impromptu Zoom group amongst the bio-medical fraternity. This consists of three Emeritus Fellows [one aged 90] and an Extraordinary with occasional guests, which since April has help lift a feeling of disconnection. It has been much appreciated - there is much laughter and we talk about ‘everything under the sun’, bridging from past to present. It might support a bit of reverse mentoring, to get the most senior to swap confidence in their Zoom technique with their wisdom, or remembered follies."
