New College Notes (ISSN 2517-6935): Issue 9 published

Issue 9 of the Library’s scholarly, open-access e-journal, New College Notes has been published.

This latest issue includes an article based on fascinating new research into women in New College in the Civil War, and another which tells the unexpected tale of how the Sir Isaac Newton papers, including the scientist’s world-famous sketch of his experiment with a camera obscura and two prisms, made their way into New College Library.

New College Notes is dedicated to short-learned notes on aspects of college history, and especially its special collections and archives, in the style of the Oxford journal Notes & Queries.
