New College Notes (ISSN 2517-6935): Issue 10 now published

Issue 10 of the Library’s scholarly open-access e-journal, New College Notes is now published.

This latest issue includes: an article based on fascinating new research into (literally) glittering corrections in Oxford copies of Margaret Cavendish, Duchess of Newcastle’s Philosophical and Physical Opinions (1663), another which provides us with a new perspective on the oldest Chinese book held in New College Library, and another that tells the tragic tale of Robert Gregory, the New College man killed in the First World War, known to millions as the unidentified subject of Yeats’s ‘An Irish Airman Foresees his Death’.

New College Notes is dedicated to learned notes, in the style of the Oxford journal Notes & Queries, and to scholarly articles on college history and especially our Library and Archives collections.
