English Literature Through the Ages online exhibition

New College Library has launched its very first online exhibition, English Literature Through the Ages.

We draw from our outstanding collections to explore the development of English literature across the centuries, via 14th-century Kent to 16th-century Warwickshire to 19th-century London, ending our journey in the present day.

Discover more about some of our fascinating medieval manuscripts, early printed books, and other rare printings, including the works of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens, and Charlotte Brontë, as well as those of acclaimed and hugely popular writers who studied here at New College.
