New College rower in the Women's Boat Race

This week's Women's Boat Race will feature a New College student!

Erin Reelick has been selected in the crew to compete against Cambridge in the Women's Boat Race this Sunday 3rd April. Huge congratulations to Erin and good luck to the Oxford boats this weekend!

Erin kindly wrote a little about her experience so far for us:

'I was rowing with the US women's national team prior to starting my MBA in Oxford. It has been quite the adjustment going from full time training in the USA, to almost the same time commitment here, plus classes and projects! But the Boat Race is one of a kind, and the opportunity to compete was too enticing to pass up! It has been a long journey since we started training as a team back in September 2021, but as boat, we are incredibly excited to finally sit on the start line alongside Cambridge on April 3rd.'

The Boat Race, contested by the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, is one of the world's oldest and most famous amateur sporting events, first raced all the way back in 1829. It takes place on a 4.25 mile course on the River Thames in West London.

2022 will be the 167th edition of the Men's Boat Race and the 76th Women's Boat Race.
