
Tilly Woods
Tilly Woods has been a member of New College since joining as an undergraduate student in 2016. She completed a Master of Mathematics in 2020 and is currently studying for a DPhil in Mathematics, supervised by Professor Ian Hewitt.
Teaching
Tilly tutors various first and second year applied mathematics courses, including fluids and waves, dynamics and mathematical modelling in biology.
Research interests
Tilly's research is focused on the mathematical modelling of ice sheets, in particular the small-scale processes influencing ice sheet surface melting. More generally, Tilly is interested in applications of fluid dynamics to geoscience.
