We are proud to work closely with schools, teachers and students from Northern Ireland, ensuring that the University of Oxford is a realistic option for students from the region.

We attend UCAS fairs and Student Conferences in the region, as well as hosting a Summer School exclusively for Northern Irish students.

Watch the video below to hear directly from Northern Irish students about their experience of studying in Oxford.

Northern Ireland Residential Summer School

Each year, New College and St Catherine's run a Northern Irish Summer School, this year welcoming 90 lower-sixth students and teachers.

Over the course of the two days, students participate in academic sessions, attend a series of talks relating to the admissions process, and meet with current Northern Irish Undergraduates at the University. Aside from the academic focus, students also have time to get to know the city, go punting on the Thames, and socialise with each other during informal quizzes and leisure time.

For teachers, there are sessions from the University’s Admissions team, as well as from the Careers Service. In addition, we also lead a session on reference writing, and gave an update on the admissions process.

We hope you consider coming to our 2019 Summer School – take a look at the quotes below for recommendations and the 2018 gallery for a peek into what the Summer School is like!
