After reading English as undergraduate, Daniel switched to philosophy as postgraduate. A secondary school teacher, and later Head of Department, for eight years, he decided to complete his postgraduate study and returned to Oxford in 2014. He is currently working towards his DPhil in ancient philosophy.


Daniel teaches both ancient and contemporary philosophy. He teaches Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, Plato’s Republic and ethics.


Research Interests

Daniel’s main area of research is the division of labour between perception and principles in Aristotle and the consequences for his theory of practical reason, as well as his methodology. Daniel is also interested in moral constructivism and republicanism.
