Fundraising for the people of Ukraine

The humanitarian crisis in Ukraine has left people all over the world looking on in horror, wondering what they can do to help.

Members of the New College community have come together to organise events to raise funds for the people of Ukraine who have had to flee their homes, many to other countries.

Bake & Buy Sale - 4th March

Many members of College donated cakes to a New College bake sale, with pieces of cake sold for £1 and complimentary coffee provided. The Dean of Divinity spoke movingly about the crisis and offered a short prayer, followed by a performance from the singing group The New Men, including a Ukrainian hymn.

The funds from this bake sale will be donated to Siepomaga's Ukraine appeal - a Polish charity helping Ukrainian foster children and orphans across the border into Poland and helping to care for them once there.

Our thanks to everyone who brought in and/or purchased cakes for your generosity.

Charity Concert - 5th March

The New College JCR and MCR have organised a Charity Concert for Ukraine on 5th March in the New College Antechapel. The evening will host musical performances, speeches from affected students, and a candlelit vigil in the Front Quad.

All those affiliated to the University of Oxford are welcome and can purchase donation-based tickets

The funds from this concert will go to the 'Ukraine Crisis Appeal' of the British Red Cross
