Dr Abi Adams in the Awards

Congratulations!

On 20th June, Dr Abi Adams, Associate Professor of Economics at New College, won the award for Outstanding Impact in Public Policy as part of the Economic and Social Research Council Celebrating Impact Prize.

Her research, co-written with Dr Jeremias Prassl (Associate Professor of Law at Magdalen College, Oxford), led to a Supreme Court ruling that employment tribunal fees of up to £1,200 for claimants, introduced in 2013, were unlawful. Read more about her research and the award.

Not only that, but the paper in question, submitted to the Modern Law Review, also won Abi and Jeremias the publication's Wedderburn Prize - a prize which is "awarded annually for a contribution to that year's volume which in the opinion of the Editorial Committee is exemplary of the type of scholarship that the Modern Law Review aims to promote". https://www.law.ox.ac.uk/news/2018-06-13-jeremias-prassl-and-abi-adams-win-mlr-wedderburn-prize

Huge congratulations to Abi (and Jeremias!) on this fantastic research and for the deserved recognition that they have received for it!
