Weekend and relief Porter

New College is looking to recruit a weekend and relief Porter for the Weston Buildings and Sports Ground site. The ideal candidate will be customer-orientated, have a positive “can do” attitude and be flexible in their approach to the role.

The Porters’ Lodge is the focal point for security in the College. It also serves a number of other important functions, such as a reception point for visitors to the College and for most enquiries. In general, people gain their first impressions of the College from the Lodge; it is therefore vital that the Lodge is seen to be working efficiently and that the Porters are perceived as helpful and courteous. The emphasis is on customer service.

Generous benefits include 6 weeks’ holiday (after qualifying period) and a contributory pension scheme.

Hours of work will be:

Saturdays 12 noon – 9:30 pm

Sundays 10am – 3pm

Plus additional ad-hoc hours to cover holidays and sickness during the week.

Salary: Pro rata of FTE £17,576
