Robert Easton

Dr Robert Easton (BSc ARCS DPhil FCGI) is the recently appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Development and External Affairs) which includes the Public Affairs Department, Development and Alumni Relations, and the International Strategy Office.  Robert is also a Partner and Senior Advisor at The Carlyle Group, the global alternative asset management company.  He is a veteran of Carlyle and performed multiple roles as an investment professional, including running the buyout team in the UK, serving as co-head of Carlyle Europe Technology Partners, and leading Carlyle’s Ireland focused fund.  Across his 17 years at the firm, he has served on multiple portfolio company boards in many different sectors and geographies.

Robert is a past Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association, a founding Director of the Walker Guidelines Monitoring Group for private equity disclosure, past member of the Advisory Board of the Business School at Imperial College London and of the new Imperial campus development in White City.  He has multiple philanthropic interests, including being a Trustee of the Young Vic Theatre and the British Heart Foundation, and is a serial investor in technology driven, small and start-up businesses.  Robert has a DPhil in Chemistry from Oxford University (New College) and a BSc in Chemistry from Imperial College London.
