The Harlech Scholarship
The Harlech Scholars’ Trust commemorates the memory of the late Lord Harlech with the creation of an endowed scholarship between Harvard University and New College, Oxford, which is Lord Harlech's alma mater. Alternating each year, the Harlech Scholarship is awarded to a Harvard student to attend New College and for a New College student to attend Harvard.

Harvard students applying to New College
The Harlech Scholarship is awarded in alternate years to a Harvard student to attend New College, Oxford, for one academic year. The scholarship covers tuition and fees, round-trip air travel, and a stipend to cover living expenses.
Students in the Senior Class of the College are eligible to apply. Only unmarried candidates will be considered, and applicants must be citizens of the United States.
Harvard Harlech Scholars attend New College in one of 2 capacities:
- As a student enrolled on a graduate degree at the University of Oxford
- As a Visiting Student, in which case they may either take a year of an undergraduate course at New College.
An enrolled graduate student would take a 9-month Masters course. A Visiting Student opting for an undergraduate course would typically take the second year of a 3-year programme.
