Dieter Helm, Professor of Energy Policy at Oxford University, discusses the government’s decision to give the go-ahead for the UK's first new nuclear power station in a generation, including the deal with French and Chinese backers which will guarantee a "strike price" of £92.50 for every megawatt hour, almost twice the current wholesale cost of electricity.
