Stefanie Burkert-Burrows

Stipendiary Lecturer in German
MSt (Oxford), Staatsexamen Eichstätt, PGCE MMU

Originally from Southern Germany, Stefanie, then a student of German and Theology at the University of Eichstätt, came to Oxford as a graduate student to St. Edmund Hall where she specialised in the area of Medieval German Mysticism and completed her MSt in Research Methods in Modern Foreign Languages in 1998 and her Staatsexamen in Germany in 1999.

In the following years, she taught German in the contexts of Secondary School and Adult Education near Manchester, before returning to Oxford in 2013.


Since 2013, Stefanie has been teaching Translation into German to St. Peter’s, Hertford, Queen’s and New College students of all years of study. From the academic year 2017/18 onwards she will also teach Oriel and Jesus College students.
