Paying your fees and battels
Fees due for the year are sent to College members by email at the beginning of Michaelmas term.
If you have opted to pay your fees by a student tuition fee loan, the SLC will automatically pay your University fees direct to the University in three parts. If you are sent a fees invoice and a funding body is paying on your behalf, please email Linda Goodsell.
Student loan (PGCE & 2nd BM)
When you arrive at New College, please call by the Tuition office (4 OB 5) to confirm your attendance, i.e. to complete the second part of your registration with the University. Your student loan will then be released to your bank account. The loan can take up to four days to arrive in your account.
If you have a query about your loan after your attendance has been confirmed, please contact Linda Goodsell in the Bursary.
Battels are bills that are sent to College members at the beginning of each term, listing the charges payable to the college.
You will receive two battels statements at the start of Michaelmas Term - one for tuition fees, and one for other charges. Other charges can include:
- accommodation and catering charges
- vacation residence
- meals you have taken in college
- JCR fees
- numerous other smaller charges.
How to pay
All battels statements will be sent by email during 0th week of each term. Payment in full must be made by Friday of 1st Week.
Cheques should be made payable to ‘New College’. If you are paying both fees and battels we will require two separate cheques. Cheques may be left in the letter box outside the Bursary at any time, or posted in the internal mail.
Cash payments may only be made in person at the Bursary during opening hours (9.30am – 12.30pm, 2.15pm – 3.30pm).
