Salary c £17,500
New College are seeking an Apprentice Chef to work alongside the Head Chef and the Kitchen brigade in preparation of all food for staff, students and our busy conference business.
The Apprentice Chef will be required to work effectively as part of a team of Chefs and Kitchen Porters, as well as work well with the SCR and Dining Hall Supervisors and General Assistants to ensure a smooth running of the Catering Department.
You will train in all areas of the kitchen to a standard that is required to progress and further your career as a Chef. Day Release Training will be arranged with a local College.
The working hours are 40 hours per week. A rota system is in operation which includes evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will have a passion for catering and a desire to become a professional chef, be fluent in written and spoken English and be prepared to take all necessary training in catering, food hygiene and health and safety.
